Unfortunately, typos and grammos undermine this exploration of the greatest English writer of all time. For the reader who muscles through the dense undergrowth of error, there are a few prizes to be won. The focus on Shakespeare's relationship with his wife provides an adequate summary of the much-speculated marriage and family life of the celebrated bard. Shakespeare's financial stake in the London theater scene, as well as his professional association with other actors, are also adequate summaries. With a bit of judicious editing, Shakespeare: Exploring the life of The Bard and His England could actually serve as a useful introduction to a legendary playwright. Until an editor combs through the narrative, though, Shakespeare: Exploring ... will remain what it appears be: an undergrad paper tattooed with a lot of red markings. Curiously, even if I'd been forewarned about the narrative transgressions, I would probably purchase the book and read it, anyway. The subject is worthy.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.WHO IS SHAKESPEAREBy Rose KleinI knew Shakespeare from his works never who he really was. This book is very refreshing for me because I was able to know Shakespeare in a different angle. It’s so amazing to learn where he came from, his hometown, his spouse and all his works that was admired by royalties. Why his plays/writings are like that (tragic, comedy). It definitely answers the question Who is Shakespeare Very educational book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.Shakespeare's life is quite the story!By Digital PlatypusNever knew there was more about the man behind the sonnets. I didn't even know he had a wife named Anne Hathaway.... aint that something! Even though the book admits that many periods of his life are unknown, the book acknowledges some theories and expounds on them. I had a pleasant time reading his deep history.See all 12 customer reviews...
