I even used to compete in tournaments! Now that I have little nephews and nieces, I’d like to share my love for the game with them too. I got this book to get them reading about it, and hopefully pique their interest. From the viewpoint of a non-beginner, I can say this is a very good handbook for someone who has never played the game before. It teaches everything from the history, to the definition of terms, to the actual mechanics of the game. The author even shared some tricks, and included the most common strategies like the four- and five-move checkmates. The illustrations were a nice addition, and effective because they’re clear and detailed. The truth is, the game does not require high levels of skill. It is easy to learn and master as you go on and keep practicing, and it’s great that the author mentioned that bit in his conclusion of the book. Well-written and comprehensive guide. I really love how chess will transform your mind into a great thinking strategies. This taught me a lot of new strategies and I understood them pretty well. The images helped a lot and with some practice I'm sure that I will learn to play better and hopefully, win a match!. Chess is not an easy game. It needs concentration and good strategy from the players in order to win. Henry did a fantastic job on creating very good guidebook for chess, he explains every strategy perfectly! His guidelines and instructions are very easy to follow and understand. Do finish the book till the end. It will benefit you even if if you are intermediate player. I would recommend this book to all as this is best book from beginners to expert.Overall, This is a great guide to learn about chess. This book contains useful and effective strategies on how to win in this game. I find it really helpful that each technique was properly illustrated in the book. I highly recommend this book to everyone who wants to learn and play Chess. The book is well written, informative and reader friendly. What I like about the book is that the author included pictures of each piece so that you can identify them from one another and their specific move.
